Bonnie 'Prince' Billy Changes Spelling, Adds Bluegrass Band on New Album

Sometimes, musicians recording material substantially different than their norm tend to change the spelling of their names. For example, Jim James’ solo set of George Harrison jams is credited to Yim Yames. Clever, Yim, but we’re on to you. Following suit, then, is Will Oldham, under the moniker Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, who will, on Dec. 15, release Funtime Comedown on Drag City offshoot Sea Note, under the name Bonny Billy and The Picket Line.

The Picket Line in question here is a Louisville, Ky. bluegrass band, relative unknowns compared to Oldham, but no less qualified to help pick away at his tunes.

Tracklist:

1. Ohio River Boat Song
2. May It Always Be
3. Hemlocks and Primroses
4. The Glory Goes / Wolf Among Wolves
5. We All Us Three Will Ride
6. Easy Does It
7. Lay and Love
8. Rider
9. Rambling Fever
10. You Want That Picture
11. Idle Hands Are The Devil’s Playthings
12. Death to Everyone
