As the story goes, Deer Tick was born when frontman John McCauley started recording songs on tape for his friends. The quartet is now bearing similar gifts five years later, as evidenced in an EP out Dec. 1.
All four offerings in More Fuel for the Fire should sound familiar to fans who have seen Deer Tick perform over the past year. Featured are three new studio tracks that the band recorded in a month at upstate New York, plus a live track from a Charlotte, N.C. set, first heard on sophomore release Born on Flag Day.
The EP also follows a live rendition the band released in honor of Veteran’s Day this week. “Baltimore Blues No. 1” can be heard and downloaded through PartisanRecords.com.
