Currently in the middle of its surprising season one follow-up, Joss Whedon’s Sci-fi drama Dollhouse is getting axed by Fox due to consistently dragging ratings, according to HollywoodReporter.com.
Whedon’s series is now filming this season’s eleventh episode, and will continue through its 13-episode order before saying goodbye for good. The creator plans to wrap up the story arc with a fitting finale with hopes that his fans can cope with the cancellation without too much remorse.
“I’m off to pursue internet ventures/binge drinking,” Whedon wrote about his future on Whedonesque.com. “Possibly that relaxation thing I’ve read so much about. By the time the last episode airs, you’ll know what my next project is. But for now there’s a lot of work still to be done, and disappointment to bear.”
If you’re wondering where the producer will venture next, a followup to Emmy-wining Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog isn’t too far out of the question.

NNNNNOOOOOOO! Just when the show was getting better! I'm not watching any new shows any more. My favorites always get canceled. I have an idea... Whedon can restart Firefly! (I wish.)
