Hot Chip's New Album, One Life Strand, to Drop in February

Almost two years to the day from when Hot Chip released Made in the Dark, the London band is coming back into the light to release its fourth album, One Life Strand, on Feb. 10, 2010 on Astralwerks.

To say there are high expectations riding on Strand would be a bit of an understatement. Hot Chip’s second outing, The Warning, was nominated for the Mercury Prize and a Grammy; Made in the Dark received nearly across-the-board positive reviews, earning the #20 spot on Paste’s Best of 2008 list.

With the band’s list of influences melting together in One Life Strand, meeting the hype might not be such a hard task—the album is said to mix soul music, modern R&B, gospel, golden age electronica, house, and the sounds of Arthur Russell, Prince and Theo Parish.
