A bloody, sweaty treat for It’s Always Sunny fans
For a traditional sitcom, a Christmas special may seem as gimmicky as the requisite retail décor, as impersonal as the gift of fruitcake. But in the spirit of the season, A Very Sunny Christmas is delivering more than the usual gifts of status quo contempt. As Frank dodges the siblings’ ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, Charlie and Mac realize that their childhood celebrations involved theft and prostitution. Singing racist raisins replace dancing sugarplums. Chainsaws and teeth splatter blood across other images of holiday nostalgia. And Frank’s sweaty birth from a black leather couch proves to be no innocent tale from the manger. In other words, it’s a filthy, disgusting Christmas in Philadelphia.

On the Eve of It's Always Sunny…
I'm a bit Sunny fan--I thought this was a little forced and over the top, but the "nude" scene with Danny DeVito was hilarious.
