Noah Baumbach's New Movie Coming in March
Focus Features has set a March 12 debut for Noah Baumbach’s latest, Greenberg, an earlier-than-expected release for a filmmaker whose work is typically rolled out in the fall as awards bait.
Baumbach, whose screenplay for The Squid and the Whale was nominated for an Oscar, crafted the new movie with his wife, Jennifer Jason Leigh. It follows a 40-something man in a rut (Ben Stiller) who travels to L.A. to housesit for his brother and forges a tenuous relationship with his brother’s assistant (Greta Gerwig). It’s something of a departure for Baumbach, whose last two films chronicled the fearsome dyanmics between dizzied parents and their children.
