Finding the perfect holiday gift for that special Nine Inch Nails fan might not always be the easiest task, and it doesn’t get much easier now that the group is waving goodbye to touring for good. Or does it?
Now that NIN won’t be traveling anymore, they’re auctioning off all their touring equipment on eBay. From guitars to basses to banjo-guitar hybrids, the band is letting it all go online, as reported by The Guardian.
As announced on NIN.com, they plan to sell hundreds of items over the next several weeks (though only about 20 are listed so far), including “keyboards, amplifiers, drums, staging, anvil cases, cables, rack/outboard gear, guitar effects, and pedal boards.” Which is to say, pretty much anything you’ve seen at an NIN concert besides the actual band members.
“We’ve been going through the NIN touring and studio rigs and getting rid of a large selection of gear and equipment the band is no longer in need of,” the band’s website reads. “We do not know which (if any) tour these items are from unless specified, nor can we get any items autographed, so please do not ask.”
Unlike most of eBay’s auctions, these items won’t be won at a discounted price. Take for instance, the “Nine Inch Nails ESP Fragile Album Art Guitar,” now boasting a hefty $2,274 bid with six days still to go, or their Gibson Gold Tone Banjitar, which is up to $1,525.
