Following up his work on Phoenix’s Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, French producer Philippe Zdar will lend his creative hand to The Rapture’s forthcoming full-length album.
In an interview with Pedestrian.tv, Zdar, also one half of Cassius, revealed as well that the rock band once heralded as the leader of a movement (Remember “dance punk”?) decided to embark a new musical direction. “All of the songs are stronger… well the seven or eight they sent me,” Zdar said of the still-untitled album. “There’s still a lot of what I loved about the first album [Echoes] on these new tracks and also a lot of futuristic stuff, so it’s really interesting.”
Three years have passed since Pieces of People We Love, the band’s last effort. Cee-Lo Green had contributed vocals for the title track, as Paul Epworth (Eliot James), Ewan Pearson (Goldfrapp) and Danger Mouse produced the album.
