Spike Jonze's Robot Love Story Short Premiering at Sundance 2010

Questions regarding Spike Jonze’s next short film will soon be answered, as I’m Here is set to premiere at next year’s Sundance Festival.

As his recent explorations with childhood wonder (Where The Wild Things Are) and inner demons (We Were Once A Fairytale, starring Kanye West) would indicate, Jonze’s newest protagonists are anything but human. I’m Here stars up-and-coming British actor Andrew Garfield (Boy A, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) and members of Seattle band Moonrats, though it focuses first and foremost on two robots falling in love, as Jonze told The Guardian.

Although its premise may strike as familiar, Jonze’s I’m Here will be no Pixar tale. In part of their recently announced partnership, Jonze created the 30-minute short on behalf of Absolut Vodka, responsible also for the Zach Galifianakis web series Absolut Zach. Plenty of photos from the I’m Here shoot are available for perusing at Jonze’s official blog We Love You So, though they, like the above photo, indicate little of what to expect.
