After gaining critical acclaim and Grammys for his film compositions, T Bone Burnett is set to tackle television.
Burnett will serve as both executive producer and executive music producer of Tough Trade, a Nashville story exploring three generations of country music debauchery. Of course, he is more than familiar with the sounds of the South, after producing records by Gillian Welch and Brandi Carlile, plus scoring Depression-era classic, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and upcoming Jeff Bridges film, Crazy Heart. Fellow executive producer Chris Offult himself has explored the fictional Bon Temps, Louisiana, as executive story editor of True Blood.
In February, cable network Epix greenlit Tough Trade as its first original series. Shooting in Nashville begins today (Dec. 3).
