White Stripes Live Box Set Coming in March

White Stripes Live Box Set Coming in March

While Jack White’s been busy as Renaissance Man of the Year in 2009, fans of his original amazing band have been left out of the fun a bit. White Stripes faithful, fear not—Jack hasn’t forgotten about us. On March 16, the Stripes will release deluxe box set of goodies including a DVD of the concert film Under Great White Northern Lights, a DVD of the band’s 10th anniversary show, a 16-track live album, a live 7", a 208-page book and an actual lock of Jack White’s hair. All true! Except for that last one.

And now, some explanation. The Under Great White Northern Lights movie, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, documents the band’s trek through our great northern neighbor in 2007 and is the anchor of this box o’ treats. That 10th anniversary show was recorded in Nova Scotia; said live album was also recorded during that Canadian journey, and shows up in the box on CD and 180 gram vinyl. The 7" includes both “Icky Thump” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” That book features tour photos by Autumn de Wilde and a forward by Jim Jarmusch. That lock of White’s hair? Well, that’s still not going to be in the box. Now stop asking about it.

If you’re not a Stripes superfan requiring a box set of such gigantitude, the film, live album and book will be sold separately, the former two out March 16 and the latter out in April 2010.
