Glee's Mr. Schuester Lands a Record Deal

He got his start on The Great White Way, has appeared on screens big and small, and this fall, Matthew Morrison’s smooth tenor will be coming to your iTunes. Morrison, best known as Mr. Schuester, the music teacher who spontaneously breaks out into pop song monologues on breakout TV hit Glee, signed a record deal with Mercury Records, the label announced yesterday.

The Tony-nominated triple threat will be going into the studio soon, and his debut album is due out this fall. No word on what the record will be like, but if Glee and Broadway are any indication, we’re envisioning a glossy radio pop à la Justin Timberlake.

If you think you can sing and dance as well as Mr. Schu, get your jazz hands ready. Fox just announced they are having an open online casting call for anyone age 16-26 to fill three roles for Glee’s next season.
