Gorillaz Gear Up for Coachella With New Album, Plastic Beach

With a recently announced headlining spot at Coachella 2010 and details on a new album, Gorillaz is proving again that they’re the world’s premier animated supergroup. Plastic Beach, Gorillaz’s first album since 2005’s Demon Days, will drop March 9, just about a month before they’ll rock the Coachella stage on April 18 in their first U.S. performance in over four years.

Even though Plastic Beach isn’t due out until spring, the first single, “Stylo,” leaked onto the Internet earlier this week. Murdoc Niccals tweeted this on Wednesday: “A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole on my island! My single’s leaked! ‘STYLO!’”

The single, featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack, is now streaming on Gorillaz.com.
