James Franco Joins New Danny Boyle Flick, 127 Hours
James Franco has signed up to star in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours, the director’s much-touted follow-up to Slumdog Millionaire.
The film will chronicle Aron Ralston, who in 2003 spent the titular period of time pinned under a boulder before he decided to cut off his own arm to freedom.
Previously, it was widely rumored that Ryan Gosling would take on the role, but no deal was inked. The project is set up at Fox Searchlight, which reportedly intends to release it before the end of the year.
