Jay-Z, Muse, Gorillaz Headline Coachella 2010 Lineup

January 19, 2010  |  10:55am

It’s a “new breed” of Coachella this year, co-founder Paul Tollet told the Palm Springs Desert Sun.

Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz will headline the April event this year, infusing the festival with a more contemporary vibe after the last two years, when old-school rockers Paul McCartney and Roger Waters were among the big acts in Indio, Caif.

The desert festival does promise some blasts from the past, with Sly and the Family Stone and a reunited Pavement set to play on Sunday. Other highlights include LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix, Yo La Tengo, Vampire Weekend, Grizzly Bear and Echo and the Bunnymen. Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is also included with four question marks behind his name. “I’m told that’s how he’s billed,” a Coachella publicist informs Paste. EW.com has further explanation here.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. and are available now on layaway at Coachella.com.
