Neil Patrick Harris is one talented fellow. He’s played the world’s youngest doctor and a suit-wearing womanizer, but did you know he can sing, too? This spring he’s set to showcase his vocals on an upcoming episode of Fox’s hit (and now Golden Globe award winning) show, Glee.
In fact, this May episode has turned into quite the event, with Joss Whedon of Buffy fame guest directing. (Whedon and Harris, you may recall, worked together on 2008’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.) Fox even recruited choreographer Zachary Woodlee—the brains behind Harris’ lithe dance moves on an episode of CBS’ How I Met Your Mother—for the gig. (Harris’ face time on Glee still lacks an official stamp of approval by his network, CBS, for him to appear on Fox, however.)
This won’t be the first time Harris has serenaded an audience. He’s been on Broadway (starring in Sweeney Todd, RENT, Cabaret and more) and on Jan. 11, in the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother, he stole the show with a love song to, well, suits.
And if How I Met Your Mother plus Glee doesn’t add up to enough NPH for you, he has a movie coming out in July. In Beastly (starring Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen) Harris plays a blind tutor named Will.
