Robert Zemeckis and Disney’s Yellow Submarine remake is one step closer to becoming a reality. Actors have been chosen to voice each of the Fab Four in the reboot of the Beatles’ trippy animated movie from 1968, according to a story in The Hollywood Reporter.
Cary Elwes, known for his role in The Princess Bride (pictured), will play George Harrison, Dean Lennox Kelly will fill the shoes of John Lennon, with Shaun of the Dead’s Peter Serafinowicz as Paul McCartney and Adam Campbell as Ringo Starr.
The film will include 16 original Beatles recordings; rights to these songs were secured from Sony/ATV and EMI-Capitol Records. Even though audiences will enjoy classic Beatles tunes performed by the band, tribute band The Fab Four has signed on to act in the movie’s performance scene. Yellow Submarine will be made using the same 3D performance-capture technology Zemeckis used in A Christmas Carol.
