Big Love Gets Renewed for Fifth Season

Big Love Gets Renewed for Fifth Season

Turns out three wives really are better than one. HBO’s family drama with a polygamist twist, Big Love, was just picked up for a fifth season on the cable network.

Although the marriage between Bill (Bill Paxton), Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), Nicki (Chloё Sevigny) and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) has seen some rocky times, Big Love is on solid ground. Variety reports that since the season four premiere on Jan. 10, the shows’ ratings have been up 13 percent from season three.

HBO signed on for 10 more episodes of Love for the next season, following this season’s nine episodes. The fifth season is expected to start sometime next winter.

Viewers can expect more twists and not-so-normal family turns from the show this year and in season five, according to executive producer Mark Olsen. “We’ve taken the show deeper and darker over the last couple of seasons, and we’re overjoyed that HBO has come along with us,” he said.
