Brittany Murphy's Final Movie Gets Picked Up by Anchor Bay

Before actress Brittany Murphy died unexpectedly last December, she was anticipating the release of her latest film, Abandoned. The movie—a psychological thriller which also stars Dean Cain and Mimi Rogers—was filmed last June, and has recently been picked up by Anchor Bay Entertainment.

In Abandoned, the 32-year-old actress plays a woman whose boyfriend disappears after a routine hospital visit. “The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany’s character as smart and tough — and that’s how we all want to remember her,” producers Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz said in a joint statement to Reuters.

The movie will be released later this year.
