Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Reunited With Warner Bros. Deal
It seemed like a perfect match in 1997 when chums Matt Damon and Ben Affleck got together to win the Best Screenplay Oscar for their joint effort, Good Will Hunting. But perhaps Mariah Carey said it best: “Spread your wings and prepare to fly… If you should return to me, we truly were meant to be, so spread your wings and fly.” Off they fluttered, Damon emerging from the chrysalis of new fame to become one of Hollywood’s monarchs, Affleck starring in, um, Gigli.
But Affleck has bounced back in recent years with critical acclaim for his turn as director of Gone Baby Gone in 2007. And now, things appear to remain on the climb with Damon and Affleck finally reunited and resurrecting their production company, Vulture reports.
It’s not apparent whether the duo will hold onto the original LivePlanet moniker for their renewed production venture, but it appears the company will be in cahoots with Warner Brothers to the tune of a first-look production deal. A formal announcement of the deal is expected as early as next week.
Considering the quality of work the two have produced together in the past, this seems like a promising venture indeed. We’re so excited, in fact, we’ve got butterflies in our stomach.
