Fourth Tom Waits/Robert Wilson Project to Debut in Paris in 2011
When Tom Waits and stage director Robert Wilson get together, good things happen. Their previous collaborations, 1990’s The Black Rider with William S. Burroughs, the 1992 reworking of Alice in Wonderland and a 2000 version of Georg Buchner’s Woyzeck, spawned Waits’ albums The Black Rider, Alice, and Blood Money, respectively.
Waits and Wilson have teamed up once again for a stage production, and they’ve tapped Academy Award winning Irish director and writer of In Bruges Martin McDonagh to join them. The title and other details on the project remain a mystery, though it is known that the play is set to premiere in Paris next year.
