HBO Announces Pilot About (Hint Hint) Brassy Hollywood Blogger

HBO has ordered a pilot from Dreamgirls director Bill Condon and Tell Me You Love Me creator Cynthia Mort about “powerful female online showbiz journalist with a no-holds-barred style,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Which is to say, essentially, that HBO has ordered a pilot about Nikki Finke.

Finke, chief proprietor of Deadline.com, has enjoyed persistent media attention as her site has become increasingly influential in Hollywood. Her merciless style has given way to equally merciless attacks on her methods and reporting, which she has pushed back against fiercely.

Gakwer scored the first rumblings from Camp Finke about the show, which hinted that she may already be party to some details about it. She told the site she would post on the series sometime this week.
