New LCD Soundsystem Album on the Way

James Murphy’s upcoming album may be his last as LCD Soundsystem, so it’s good to know the project is in good hands. “Mixing last song right now to send to the amazing Bob Weston to master,” his Twitter read late last night. “Meaning, record DONE.”

Murphy is currently gearing up for a tour. Meanwhile, the soundtrack for Noah Baumbach’s upcoming Greenberg, out March 22, features 11 songs by James Murphy and one more credited to LCD Soundsystem.

Murphy’s tweet about the new record ended simply: “I hope people like it.” Knowing how hard Murphy has worked on LCD’s third LP (He’s had it in his head since at least ‘08.), that’s a fair thing to hope for.
