Funnymen Danny McBride and Jody Hill are taking their relationship to the next level. Although the two collaborated on HBO series East Bound and Down, now the duo—along with director buddy David Gordon Green—are business partners, too. The guys formed Rough House Pictures in December, and are now producing the first film under that banner, a comedy called L.A.P.I.
McBride, Hill and Green go way back to film school days, when they all attended the North Carolina School of the Arts. Now, through Rough House, the guys hope to have an outlet to showcase the left-of-center comedy they’re so very good at.
Although there aren’t many details about the new flick yet, we know that McBride’s slated to play a beaten-down private investigator in the action-comedy. Meanwhile, Hill will direct and McBride, Hill and Green will all three be producing.
