Dave Sitek and Aziz Ansari Unveil First Mixtape Track

The first song from the much-anticipated Raaaaaaaandy Mixtape, featuring the alter-ego of comedian Aziz Ansari rapping over beats produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, sees Ansari playing the Game like a pro. His first single, “Aaaaaaaangry,” wasn’t released. It was leaked, and it features Raaaaaaaandy taking up the mantle of another great hip-hop tradition—the beef.

“Aaaaaaaangry” is nearly five minutes of Raaaaaaaandy calling out every A-list emcee you can think of for a tardy return on the lyrics he says they promised him. Here he is admonishing Ludacris: “I bought a jar of mayonnaise / whenever we sent you the beats / and now that shit’s expired / you slower than mayonnaise!”

An outro from the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, who’s also taken to task on the track, features him musing on how on earth a comedian could make a mixtape. He sums it up nicely in the last few seconds, saying, “Everybody wanna be a rapper these days.”
