Spike Jonze Enlists Flea, Nick Zinner, Aska Matsumiya for Short Film Soundtrack


Spike Jonze’s I’m Here: A Love Story in an Absolut World just hit the Sundance festival last week. As previously reported, the short film weaves a tale of love in the big city between two robots.

Intriguing, no? Also intriguing are the folks making music for the project. According to Spinner, Jonze recruited Yeah Yeah Yeah’s guitarist Nick Zinner (pictured), Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea and the Sads’ Aska Matsumiya to create a song for I’m Here’s soundtrack. Written and sung by Matsumiya, “There Are Many of Us” was released on iTunes this pas Monday, Feb. 1.

I’m Here—which was commissioned by Absolut Vodka, hence, the title—will be released online next month, but you can watch the trailer below:
