Keyboardist/vocalist Franz Nicolay may be gone, but that just means The Hold Steady will be packing a little lighter for their April tour of the Northeast.

Seemingly tireless tour monsters that they are, the Craig Finn-led collective will rock 12 cities in just two weeks. Concerned that the cerebral balladeers won't be the same without Nicolay there to tickle the ivories? Never fear. Sources say "they still put on a hell of a show without him."
