Those dapper New York gents in The Walkmen gave us one of the best albums of 2008 with You & Me. And after spending a good chunk of 2009 touring, they’ve returned to the studio. Yesterday, they announced on their website that a new album, recorded and mixed by You & Me engineer Chris Zane, will be released on Oxford, Mississippi’s Fat Possum Records.

In addition to switching labels from, The Walkmen tried their hand at producing with their as-yet-untitled new release. Next month, they’ll play the opening of the Armory Show art fair at the Museum of Modern Art on March 3 before scooting down to Austin in time to play NPR’s SXSW showcase at Stubb’s with Spoon on March 17. April 1 will bring the band back home to New York for a show at Brooklyn’s The Bell House.
