Universal Orlando's Harry Potter Theme Park Opening in June

Harry Potter fans, mark your calendars: Universal Orlando’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open its enchanted doors on June 18. But for muggles who just can’t wait until then, there’s a special preview option beginning on May 28 through the park’s website.

Visitors should expect the park to meet up to their expectations, and to be in keeping with the bestselling books, as author J.K. Rowling has been closely involved in the attraction’s planning. Plus, with the help of set designers from the bewitching films on board, there’s extra certainty that the park is the real deal. “This is so authentic to what I experienced on the films that I find it hard to tell them apart,” Potter set designer Alan Gilmore said on a media tour of the park. “I’m a stickler for detail, and I really haven’t let go of these guys until it was perfect.”

And it’s not just “perfect,” it’s also expansive. Boasting rides on Harry’s broomstick, a replica of the Hog’s Head pub, a peek into the Gryffindor common room, a stroll through Hogsmeade village and more, a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is sure to be a thrill for any true Potter addict.
