Rolling Stones Planning Exile on Main Street Reissue
The Rolling Stones’ iconic 1972 opus, Exile on Main Street, will be reissued by Universal Music Group on May 18 in the U.S. The record will feature 10 previously unreleased tracks that were recorded in the ’70s. A documentary produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker John Battsek and directed by Stephen Kijak titled Stones in Exile that documents the recording of the album will also air this spring on BBC International.
The re-release will be available in two CD formats: the original 18 track release and a deluxe CD edition with the 10 bonus tracks. A super deluxe package that includes vinyl, a 30-minute documentary DVD and a 50-page collector’s book with photos from the Exile era will also be available.
