Ryan Adams Goes "Metal" With Forthcoming Album

Is the world ready for this? Ryan Adams has announced the upcoming release of his “most legit metal record,” Orion, The Guardian reports. You can stream an unnamed track on Adams’ website to see just how metal (or not) this new album will be.

Although Adams has ventured out of his alt-country comfort zone into heavier pastures before, this is the first time he has done so using his own name. In the past, he’s released tracks under the monikers Werewolph and Sleazy Handshake. According to his site, Adam’s Pax-Am label will begin pressing the album next week.

While we wait, why not peruse this slideshow of Neal Casal’s photo book, Ryan Adams & the Cardinals: A View of Other Windows? There’s nothing too particularly metal to be found there, but you do get awesome photos of Willie Nelson and Oasis!
