Tapes 'n Tapes Ready to Record New Album

Tapes 'n Tapes Ready to Record New Album

Tapes ’n Tapes burst onto our radar in 2006, when they generated a buzz that would make most any blog band jealous. Their second album, Walk It Off sustained the hype, and now the band is going back to the studio to record a batch of songs for their third LP. According to their blog, they spent the winter writing new music, and will begin recording later this month.

“Our winter has been focused on less talk and more rock,” the post reads. “We’ve got a bunch of new rock, a full album’s worth actually. We are going in to the studio to record our third LP. We’re really excited for all of you to hear what we’ve been working on for all this time.”

Meanwhile, the band has a single show planned before entering the studio. This Sunday, March 21, Tapes ’n Tapes will perform at the 7th St. Entry in their native Minneapolis with openers Vampire Hands and Minneapolis Dub Ensemble. “We’re gonna need to get the kinks out and have some fun playing new songs and old,” the band says elsewhere in the aforementioned blog post. “It’s going to be a rocking good time.” Interested parties can get tickets for the show via any First Avenue & 7th St. Entry outlets.
