<em>The Baader Meinhof Complex</em> Coming to DVD Later This Month

One of 2009’s Academy Award nominees will soon be available on double-disc DVD and Blu-ray. The Baader Meinhof Complex, a German film which earned a nomination for Best Foreign-Language film at last year’s Oscars, will be released in home-viewable form March 30.

The film, directed by Uli Edel, tells the story of a group of radicals known as the Red Army Faction or the Baader-Meinhof Gang. During the 1970s, the group wreaked havoc in West Germany through bombings and shootings aimed at police and bankers among others. Edel based the story on a book by Stefan Aust.

The Baader Meinhof Complex earned Best Foreign-Language nods at both the Golden Globes and Britain’s BAFTA awards in addition its Oscar nod.
