We first heard Lissie on her 2009 EP, Why You Runnin’, which we ended up heralding as one of the year’s most auspicious musical debuts. Later, we met her in person, when she came and played for us, right here at Paste HQ. We also encouraged you to get to know the flaxen-haired songstress slash domestic goddess earlier this year. Most recently, she covered Metallica at one of our SXSW parties.
If that excellent performance of “Nothing Else Matters” and the video below are any indication (not to mention her rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Ramona”), Lissie might just have a covers album in her future. Watch an awesome rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” below (Thanks to HearYa for the tip!):

This is seriously very good.
DUDE. wow. not much in life brings me as much joy as witnessing raw talent. impressive, effortless cover.
'nuff said.
That was awesome! I really enjoyed that!
I really can't decide whose version of this wretched non-song is worse. The greasy, over- singing hippie's or the shiny, non-singing tranny's.
I don't know whether to laugh or throw up.
Even the awesome Lissie couldn't make this song tolerable!
But here is a note to Gaga: Look at what someone can do with your song without being a cartoon character.
