What in the World is MGMT Up To?

Leading up to the release of their sophomore album Congratulations, the fellas in MGMT have launched a strange contest of sorts and are asking their fans to find them.

A new website, WhereIsMGMT.com, just launched and explains the game. There is an MGMTmobile (plastered with the band’s ridiculous cover art), that will be visiting six different cities between March 10 and March 18. One hour before the van’s arrival in one of the secret locales, a message will be posted on the site giving clues that will lead fans to a location in the city and a password. The first six people to figure out where in the world the boys are will find a person holding up an MGMT flag. Upon giving the proper password from the website, a mysterious “journey” will start that will apparently take two hours. Anyone who wants to play must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid photo ID. To make sure you don’t miss a clue, follow the band’s Twitter page for more details on the contest.
