Blur Contributes First Song in Seven Years to Record Store Day Single

It’s been seven years since Blur released “Good Song.” Since then, singer Damon Albarn found success wtih Gorillaz, and there was no telling if he’d reunite with his previous band. But according to The Sun, fans’ responses to Blur’s recent documentary, No Distance Left to Run, prompted Albarn to take a break from promoting Plastic Beach to see if there was any magic left in his old group.

Turns out, there was enough magic to fill a 7" just in time for Record Store Day. Along with Beach House, the makers of Atlanta rock doc We Fun and many, many more, Blur will make the new single available in a limited release (1,000 copies, to be exact) at independent record stores this Saturday, April 17. “Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support,” Albarn says. “We hope people like it.”
