Harrison Ford to Star in Cowboys & Aliens Graphic Novel-Turned-Movie

Sure, he’s convincing as a whip-wielding archaeology geek, but can Harrison Ford pull off a stint as an alien-dueling, boot-sporting cowboy? Soon we’ll (probably) get to find out, as Ford is in talks to be the latest addition to director Jon Favreau’s upcoming film version of Scott Mitchell Rosenberg’s graphic novel series Cowboys & Aliens.

If he commits, Ford would share the screen with Daniel Craig in a storyline following a group of cowboys and Indians at odds with each other, until they’re forced to band together to fend off a crew of extraterrestrials. Shooting is scheduled to kick-off this summer, with a planned July 2011 release date.
