Juan Jose Campanella Directing Argentina's First 3-D Cartoon

Between the insanely successful Avatar and Alice in Wonderland, the addition of 3-D technology to movies is quickly becoming more than a trend—and not just in the U.S., either.

The first-ever Argentine 3-D cartoon is set to go into production soon, with the finished product coming out in two years, according to Variety. Titled Foosball, the animated flick is helmed by this year’s foreign language Oscar-winner, Juan Jose Campanella, director of El secreto de sus ojos (The Secret In Their Eyes). Foosball was originally going to come out in plain old 2-D, but producers decided to cash in on the 3-D craze. Meanwhile, Campanella’s Oscar-winning movie comes out in the U.S. April 16.
