New York Magazine's "Approval Matrix" Becoming Bravo TV Show
Bravo is developing a new weekly TV show based on New York magazine’s popular back page feature, the “Approval Matrix” according to the New York Post. The feature entertainingly places pop culture news and trends in a matrix between “Highbrow Brilliant,” “Highbrow Despicable,” “Lowbrow Brilliant” and “Lowbrow Despicable.”
For the show, four rotating pundits will debate pop-culture events on the basis of the four categories of the magazine’s original matrix. The feature will continue to run in the magazine, even when the same-named show airs. Michael Hirschorn, who has produced several reality shows including Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, I Love the ‘80s and Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, will serve as producer and he also worked as an executive editor at New York magazine before the feature began running.
