British actress Rachel Weisz will take on the role of one of America’s most beloved first ladies, Jackie Kennedy, in an upcoming biopic. The still-unnamed film will chronicle the days between JFK’s assassination and burial, Entertainment Weekly reports. Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream, husband of Weisz) will direct the movie.
Choosing a Brit to play American royalty is an adventurous choice of sorts, one that reminded us of some other presidential portrayals we envisioned about a year and a half ago. After Josh Brolin was cast as George W. Bush in W., and while we were waiting to find out who the new president of the United States was going to be, Paste made a few suggestions on which actors would be best-suited to play which presidents, complete with rad illustrations! A few ladies made the list, and we’re reposting them in the hopes that Weisz will consult them for advice during this positively executive time of her career:
