Back in the summer of 1977, Roger Ebert wrote a script about The Sex Pistols. Originally titled Anarchy in the U.K., it was supposed to be directed by Russ Meyer and produced by the band’s manager, the late Malcolm McLaren. The name of the film was eventually changed to Who Killed Bambi, and though the movie was never made due to financial issues, Ebert recently posted the whole script on his Chicago Sun-Times blog. “I can’t discuss what I wrote, why I wrote it, or what I should or shouldn’t have written,” Ebert said of the script. “Frankly, I have no idea.” Watch the movie’s would-be director discuss the project below, and head over to Ebert’s blog to read the whole script.
