Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe have teamed up again (Scott directed Crowe in 2000’s Gladiator) for a remake of Robin Hood. The updated Robin Hood, which chronicles Robin Hood’s beginnings, will see Crowe taking on the lead role of the poor man’s hero and also stars Cate Blanchett.
The film is now set to open the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Robin Hood will be screened on opening night (May 12), kicking off the French film festival that runs through May 23.
Robin Hood hits theaters in the U.S. on May 14.
