Wilco to Curate, Headline Inaugural Solid Sound Festival

Wilco’s only making one visit to the east coast this summer, and it’s for good reason: the Chicago-based sextet will be both headlining and curating the Solid Sound Festival. In its first year, the festival will be a three-day event featuring music, art and comedy, taking place at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, Mass.

In addition to Tweedy and the guys, Wilco (The Festival) will include bands like the Nels Cline Singers, On Fillmore, the Autumn Defense, and Pronto (all Wilco members’ side projects). Attendees will be free to roam the museum’s expansive grounds (it used to be a 19th century textile mill) and experience the interactive elements of the festival (things like an interactive guitar pedal exhibit by Wilco guitarist Nels Cline). The Solid Sound Festival will run Aug. 13-15, and tickets are on sale now via Wilco’s site or the festival’s official website.
