If a nationwide tour, a concert at the White House and positive critical/commercial reactions in a time slot that competed with Lost‘s final season aren’t indicators of success for Fox’s Glee, first of all, sheesh! You sure are hard to impress. Secondly, there’s this: The show has already been renewed for a third season, even though it hasn’t even finished its first.
Glee‘s first-season run, which we featured in our Fall Guide to Good TV was described as a zeitgeist in Entertainment Weekly’s reporting of the third season. The show is the new No. 1 among the 18-49 demographic and has a devoted fanbase—proudly called Gleeks—that supports the show fanatically.
The first season of Glee wraps up on June 8. The second season will start its fall run on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
