Is Aziz Ansari the Busiest Comedian Working Today?

Paste’s 10th best comedian of the last decade and 30 Rock writer Matt Hubbard are teaming up to create a new comedy, and Mandate Pictures is now on board as well. Ansari will be both writing and acting in the flick, starring alongside Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express).

It’s already proven to be a big year for Ansari. The NBC comedy he’s a part of, Parks and Recreation, was renewed for a third season, he’s making the rounds on a stand-up tour, he’ll be hosting the MTV Movie Awards in June and he’s released a mixtape. Phew.

Ansari and McBride have already acted together in last year’s Observe and Report, and they have a second project, 30 Minutes or Less, in the works. This latest (currently unnamed) comedy’s plot is under wraps at the moment, but Mandate’s Nathan Kahane will share executive producer duties with Ansari, and Hubbard will co-produce.
