Last week, we rode the excitement roller coaster over the news that Anchorman 2 was happening, but then found out it wasn’t. And it looks as if the studio suits have given us another ticket to ride. Apparently, the Zoolander sequel has also fallen prey to budget problems.
“Ron Burgundy and Derek Zoolander looking to appear in sequels. Both men destitute, without means or intellect to fund their own comebacks,” Ben Stiller, the movie’s Blue Steel-sporting star tweeted. Back in February, we learned Tropic Thunder auteur Justin Theroux had been hired to pen and direct the sequel about Hans (Owen Wilson) and Zoolander 10 years later. Theroux even went to Paris Fashion Week to research for the project. Although the film’s studio hasn’t issued any official word, Stiller’s tweet does not bode well.
