Jessica Biel is in final negotiations for period drama Vivaldi. The 28-year-old actress would star alongside rising British star Luke Evans in the Patricia Riggen-directed biopic.
The film tells the tale of a brewing romance between Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi (Evans) and singer Anna Tessieri Giro (Biel), which led to him writing his best known work “The Four Seasons.”
Vivaldi—who died in 1741 from suspected asthmatic bronchitis—denied any relationship with Anna at the time, and many historians believe the claims of the Venetian virtuoso.
The script was written by Kevin Lund and T. J. Scott with Michael Mosca producing the film, which is hoping to be sold at the Cannes Film Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Biel has a number of film’s coming out this year, including The A-Team, in which she appears alongside Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper, and Nailed with Jake Gyllenhaal and James Marsden.
