Jim Henson Co. Announces Dark Crystal Sequel

Way back in 1982, at the height of Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s puppet-creation careers, fantasy flick The Dark Crystal was considered groundbreaking for its use of animatronics. Now, The Jim Henson Co. is teaming up with the Australian-based Omnilab Media to create the next chapter in the story: Power of the Dark Crystal.

Not to be outdone by its predecessor, this latest film will be made in 3D and is considered to be one of the biggest Australian company’s projects yet. With a screenplay written by Craig Pearce, the storyline will take place hundreds of years after The Dark Crystal, chronicling the tale of a girl made of fire who steals a magical crystal.
