“I read the news today, oh boy / About a lucky man who made the grade,” the Beatles croon on the final track to their legendary 1967 Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. “A Day in the Life” was penned by John Lennon, and on June 18, the handwritten version of the song will go up for auction in New York City via Sotheby’s.
The auction house says they expect the document—which used to belong to the Beatles’ road manager, Mal Evans—to bring in between $500,000 and $700,000.
