Josh Brolin Joins Cast of <em>Men in Black III</em>

Josh Brolin didn’t want to work on Men in Black III when he first heard the storyline.

The 42-year-old actor, who is due to play an as yet nameless character in the third installment of the sci-fi comedy, said he didn’t like the “general story” when he first heard the initial script idea but is happy to be on board now. “It looks really, really good,” he said. “I can’t tell you the story, obviously, but they pitched me the general story and I was like, ‘Eh, I don’t know if that’s really my thing, man.’ I was extremely grateful that they were even interested in me. But then they got more specific with the story and I go, ‘Yes, that’s fucking great! This is a character where I feel like I can do some actual acting work within this franchise that everybody knows.”

The Milk star also confirms the story has been through a number of changes before it came to the final script. “I read something early, early, early, but it’s very different than what is being written now,” he said.

Men in Black III is due to feature the stars of the first two films, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. It is due for release on May 12, 2012.
